Regional Capacity building workshop on curriculum alignment, teacher training and learning assessments (25-27 July, 2018)

 atelier 25 juillet 18

Thanks to the Global Partnership for Education’s funding, TALENT network will be implementing, in partnership with regional organizations and institution, a series of capacity building and knowledge sharing activities for Sub-Saharan countries between 2018 and 2020, the first of which is taking place in July.

A vast body of research indicates that, although most countries in the SSA region have started curriculum reforms, learning outcomes have not improved adequately due to the fact that they were not necessarily accompanied by relevant reforms in teacher training and/or review of learning assessment[1].

In this context, TALENT is organizing a regional capacity-building workshop, the 25th-27th of July in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), on the alignment between curriculum, teacher training and learning assessments. The workshop will be hosted by the Open University of Tanzania (OUT) and will allow the 19 expected participant’s countries to identify the main weaknesses in their respective learning assessment system, learn from best practices in learning assessment system alignment and develop a national work plan to improve the alignment in their country. The three-days face-to-face workshop will be followed by an online training of two-month duration.

Participating countries: Benin, Burundi, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Chad, Central African Republic, Comoros, Gambia, Ethiopia, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Niger, Lesotho, Senegal, South Soudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda.
