On 15 September 2016, the Regional Coordination Group on SDG4-Education 2030 in West and Central Africa (RCG4-WCA) met for the third time to discuss their plans to support countries in the region in moving towards achieving the Education 2030 agenda. Meeting immediately after the regional launch of the 2016 Global Education Monitoring Report (GEMR) - which highlights the substantial gaps that remain for equitable and quality learning opportunities for all, and in response, also highlights the critical role of education in achieving the SDGs - the group has chosen joint areas for action.
